Service dispatch terms
Independent contractors
Providers are independent 1099 contractors, not CityTask employees. CityTask coordinates booking, payment collection, and support but does not direct day-to-day work methods.
No insurance
CityTask does not provide insurance for jobs booked through the platform. Providers are responsible for damage they cause. Customers should photograph areas before service and remove fragile items.
Payment
Customers pay only the agreed work price — no separate platform fee. A deposit secures booking; the balance is due after work is confirmed or completed. Mid-job scope changes require customer approval of an updated price. If final work costs less than agreed, the difference is refunded via Stripe (test mode during launch).
Commission (providers)
One-off jobs: CityTask retains 20%, provider receives 80%. Recurring jobs: 20% on the first occurrence, 10% on subsequent occurrences. Stripe processing fees are absorbed from CityTask's platform share, not deducted from the provider's share. Tips (when enabled) pass 100% to providers.
Cancellation & disputes
CityTask reviews photos and facts for quality disputes. Refunds or rework are at CityTask discretion. Late cancellations may incur a fee. Provider no-shows trigger reassignment when possible.
Off-platform solicitation
Customers book and pay through CityTask. Off-platform solicitation is discouraged per these terms.
Data & eligibility
Users must be 18+. Background checks may be introduced later with disclosure. California privacy rights apply where relevant.
